As if the coming months couldn’t get any busier in terms of releases, Keen Games has announced that Enshrouded, its survival crafting action RPG, will exit early access on October 15th. Version 1.0 will be available for PC and mark the title’s debut on PS5, but Xbox Series X/S players will need to wait until Spring 2027.
As for why, studio CEO Jan Jockel said, “As we approached launch, we decided that achieving the level of quality and performance we expect on Xbox would require additional time. We never want to rush a platform release or compromise on quality.”
He noted that the Xbox version “is progressing steadily,” and in the meantime, fans could expect more details on 1.0 later this Summer.
Thankfully, the Steam page offers a few hints at what players can expect. New enemies and locations are a given, but the latest trailer teases the latter. It’s a land mass in the sky, supported by massive columns and seemingly interconnected. If we didn’t know any better, it could probably pass for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance’s new locale.
Of course, that’s just the tip of the spear, as 1.0 promises an improved experience for new players and better optimization to ensure smoother performance (especially on less powerful systems). You can also expect new features for Adventure Sharing, like logic gates, traps, enemy spawners, and whatnot.
Combat is also touted to see more improvements, from more enemy variety to smarter tactics. Considering how combat-heavy the game is, this is a good sign – we’ll just have to wait and see if Keen Games can deliver.
