It seems Pearl Abyss is more comfortable releasing Crimson Desert patches that focus on bug fixes rather than adding new features or overhauling existing systems. After last week’s massive trading revamp, Patch 1.17.00 addresses issues such as unintended items being assigned to a quick slot once all the food is gone.

If you noticed the effects of unique headgear not activating in certain circumstances, that’s also been fixed. You also don’t have to worry about the issue causing overlapping footstep sounds or animation stutter while your character is moving. Abnormal trade routes on the map, unobtainable treasure chest icons on the map, localization errors – all this and more have also been addressed.

It’s a short list, but you can check out the full patch notes below. Pearl Abyss isn’t done by a long shot, though, as it has updates planned until September. Story improvements are in the pipeline, and at this rate, it wouldn’t be surprising to see New Game Plus added in the future, though how it would work is anyone’s guess.

And lest we forget, it also has paid DLC in the works, which promises to be different from updates released so far. What that means remains unknown, but new quests, weapons, armor and activities seem a given. The team is also evaluating a Nintendo Switch 2 port, though nothing is confirmed.
