Control Resonant on PS5 Pro Offers Performance, Quality and Balanced Modes With Ray Tracing Options

Remedy Entertainment has finally provided more details on how Control Resonant will run on consoles, notably PS5 and PS5 Pro. While it supports features like the DualSense’s Adaptive Triggers and 3D audio, the graphics modes are particularly intriguing. On base PS5, you have Performance and Quality modes that offer 1440p/60 FPS and 2160p/30 FPS, respectively.

PS5 Pro has three modes and ups the resolution and visual fidelity. Performance delivers 2160p/60 FPS, while Quality offers the same performance and resolution but with ray tracing. If that wasn’t enough, those with 120 Hz displays can opt for Balanced, which runs at 2160p with ray tracing and targets 40 FPS.

PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution is also used, though Remedy didn’t clarify whether this was the upgraded version. Either way, both platforms offer impressive fidelity and detail, especially given the game’s open-ended nature and larger environments compared to the first.

Control Resonant launches on September 24th and is also coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC. You can check out the requirements for the latter here, and while it appears very scalable (that too without Frame Generation enabled), you’ll need a pretty strong set-up to enable Path Tracing at 4K/60 FPS. For more details, head here and stay tuned for further updates.
