Hero 51 gets her full reveal on April 8

The next hero coming to the Overwatch roster will be fully revealed on April 8 at 9 a.m. PDT, Blizzard Entertainment announced Tuesday. The developer teased a first look at the game’s next Damage-role character, currently known only as “Hero 51,” hinting at her in-game abilities.

We’ve been able to see Hero 51 in silhouette for a couple of months now, but the character’s full art offers a much clearer look at her kit. She’s armed with a pronged weapon that looks like an energy-based sniper rifle, and she’s paired with a drone that resembles a flying fish. She sports extremely long pink and brown braids, and her military-style uniform makes her look not unlike Widowmaker dressed as Cammy from Street Fighter — or simply Cammy with pants.

A logo on her vest indicates that she’s a member of Helix Security International, a private security firm funded by the United Nations. Helix ran the maximum security prison that once housed Akande Ogundimu, aka Doomfist, who was freed by Reaper. Pharah is a former member of Helix.

Hero 51 is slated to join Overwatch with the launch of season 2, which is expected to kick off on April 15.

Blizzard relaunched Overwatch in February, dropping the 2 from the game’s title and adding five new heroes to the roster: Domina (Tank), Anran (Damage), Emre (Damage), Jetpack Cat (Support), and Mizuki (Support). Blizzard plans to add a total of 10 new heroes to the game in 2026.

The teaser for Hero 51 follows an announcement from Blizzard and webcomic company Webtoon on a new expansion of Overwatch‘s lore, which will continue the game’s current Reign of Talon storyline.
