There’s a lot to look forward to when Battlefield 6 Season 4 lands next week, but for many, it’s all about the highway to the Danger Zone. That’s because the development team is collaborating with the legendary Top Gun franchise in an event that includes both classic and contemporary characters.
Besides Miles Teller and Lewis Pullman, who play “Rooster” and “Bob” in Top Gun: Maverick (no Tom Cruise, sadly), there’s also Charles Parnell, who plays Rear Admiral Solomon Bate, aka “Warlock.” Each recreates their characters with incredible accuracy, lending even more weight to what DICE calls its biggest collaboration yet.
Beyond the classic F-14 Tomcat, players can look forward to the series debut of the F-74A Seacat. A new map, Kao Strike, is also coming alongside Fighter Sweep in Battlefield RedSec’s Gauntlet mode and Carrier Strike, described as a “Top Gun take” on Carrier Assault.
And for those who really like Top Gun, except for a few “deep-cut Easter eggs.” If that doesn’t include Kenny Loggins’ iconic song playing at some point, then I don’t know what to say.
Battlefield 6 Season 4 kicks off on August 18th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. There’s a lot to look forward to beyond the Top Gun update, including Tsuru Reef, the return of Wake Island, naval mechanics, new weapons, and yes, believe it or not, Spectator Mode. Head here for all the details.
