A second Star Trek game is going to be delisted in 2026

Star Trek video game players just can’t win this year. Star Trek Legends is going to be delisted later in August, the second time this year that a Star Trek game has been removed from storefronts.

Developer Emerald City Games made the announcement on Steam on Friday. Star Trek Legends will be pulled from PC storefronts on Aug. 20, though it had already been removed from console storefronts sometime earlier this year. To make matters worse, Emerald City Games said the game will only be playable until Sept. 3, when it will be taken offline. However, recent Steam player reviews have stated that Star Trek Legends has been unplayable for days and may already be entirely offline.

Star Trek Legends started as an Apple Arcade game before getting ported to consoles and PC. It’s a strategy RPG where you assemble a team of captains and other characters from all eras of Star Trek to save the universe.

It’s the second Star Trek game to disappear this year after Star Trek: Resurgence was delisted earlier in the summer. At least Resurgence can still be played by those who purchased it before its delisting, unlike Legends.

The delistings have to make you wonder how much of a shelf life the latest Star Trek game will have. Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is a survival-strategy sim that received a pretty good reception when it was released in February. Legends lasted two years on Steam and Resurgence about three years, so mark your calendars for February 2028 and February 2029 to see if Voyager – Across the Unknown is still boldly going.

Up next for Star Trek video games is the recently announced Star Trek: Shadow Frontier, a horror game from the team behind the Silent Hill 2 remake.
