One of the more surprising pieces of news to come out of this year has been Closers’ un-sunsetting thanks to Papaya Play, with the side-scrolling anime MMO returning after its shutdown last June with a new character and updated progression, though it also was forced to make everyone start from scratch. Now, following pre-registration and name registration events, the game has officially come back online.
As one might expect, the game’s return is being marked with a series of events like freebies handed out for daily logins and hours played in-game, special buffs for XP and rewards, free gifts to celebrate the “birthday” of various members of the MMO’s character roster, and of course the handouts for everyone earned through the pre-registration campaign. There’s also a level boosting jumping mission event that grants a character high-level gear and materials, including for the new character Mois.
Also as one might expect, the game is making sure to aim players towards its various cash shop offerings, with its primary news page almost exclusively flagging cash shop things, so obviously Papaya Play is looking to see some return on investment here. Regardless, this one has now returned one way or the other. We’ll see how long this lasts.
