The VR Games Showcase gave us a closer look at Gunman Contracts Stand Alone, with a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it tidbit of information tacked on to the end of an action-packed trailer; Gunman Contracts Stand Alone will launch in Early Access on the same day as Valve’s Steam Frame VR headset (though exactly when that might happen is still a mystery).

To be clear, this does not mean that Gunman Contracts Stand Alone will launch with Steam Frame, like a pack-in game (think: Astro’s Playroom with PlayStation 5 or Sonic the Hedgehog with the Sega Genesis). Gunman Contracts Stand Alone will simply be listed for sale on the same day that Frame launches.
Gunman Contracts Stand Alone is an action-movie inspired first-person shooter (playable in both VR and flat). You play as a professional hitman taking on the city’s ruthless criminal element, bringing justice to a seedy underworld beyond the reach of the law.
It’s John Wick. In VR!
Of course, Steam Frame is Valve’s long-awaited and highly anticipated standalone VR headset. Most recently it has been reported that Frame is launching this summer, though an exact date has not yet been revealed.
Whenever Frame eventually arrives, we at least know now that Gunman Contracts Stand Alone will launch in Early Access on the same day.
