Alright, you’ve done it all – you’ve cut, sliced, and probably thrust your way through the entirety of Phantom Blade Zero. What now? Well, the good news is that you can do it all again, if you like, only this time it’s different!

New Game Plus modes are fairly common in action games like Phantom Blade Zero, but what they entail differs from game to game. Some heap challenges on to seasoned players, and some allow you to experience the story again, only at the extreme level of power you achieved just before offing the final boss.

PBZ New Game Plus, explained

Firstly, Phantom Blade Zero does have New Game Plus, which is great news. You can access this new game mode at any point after you have rolled credits by speaking to Inanis – fast travel from any bell to the Puppet Cell at the Mountain of Imprisonment. From there, you can start a new adventure. The details of New Game Plus are:

  • An even more perilous journey through the Wulin.
  • Equipment, progression items, ability training, and archives will carry over.
  • Quests, maps, key items, and remaining days will be reset.

So you get another shot at everything Phantom Blade Zero has to offer, only this time it’s more difficult, and you start with everything you ended with last time, including all your ability training and any powerful equipment picked up last time. The real test is going to be how many times will you take on PBZ, and how powerful will you get?
