Fans of the ambitious multiplayer RTS ZeroSpace have been understandably concerned for its future due to low player counts in the wake of its recent early access launch, but the developers at Starlance Studios have taken to reddit to offer some reassurance. They confirm that early access sales were good enough to ensure development costs are funded “through our 1.0 release.”

The lengthy post also tackles some other hot button community issues. The devs promise a redesign of the oft-criticized UI, as well as a focus on optimization and bug fixing. They also discuss update cadence during early access, which is still somewhat in the air, but they are aiming for weekly updates dedicated to bug fixes and minor balance adjustments, with larger content updates probably coming monthly-ish. September will feature a new Galactic War season, new units, and campaign and co-up updates as headline features.

Our Not So Massively column recently delved into the current state of this crowdfunded RTS, finding the game very rough and suffering from a somewhat scattered development direction, but praising its MMO-inspired Galactic War mode as an unique and addictive experience.
