Beast of Reincarnation, Date Everything, and more arrive in August
While Pokémon may never come to an Xbox platform, the new game from Pokémon developer Game Freak is arriving on Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release. Beast of Reincarnation is now out and headlines a wave of new titles hitting Xbox Game Pass in August.
Beast of Reincarnation is an action RPG where you play as a young woman and her dog companion traversing a post-apocalyptic futuristic Japan. Hostile robot-like golems and corrupted creatures roam the land. Together, Emma and Koo will parry their way through battles against lumbering giant monsters as they venture to save the world.
The game’s critical reception has been decidedly mixed so far, with gamexplore’s Giovanni Colantonio saying in his review, “Beast of Reincarnation does kick with its breathtaking action, powered by rich RPG systems you’d expect from the studio that once revolutionized the genre, but its identity is buried under unrefined ideas borrowed from some of the decade’s best games.”
Beast of Reincarnation isn’t the only title hitting Game Pass this month. On Tuesday, Xbox revealed the full lineup of games coming to the subscription service in the first half of August, which also includes open beta access for the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day. Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that allows players to stream new and old games across Xbox, PC, and handheld platforms. Plans include the Essential tier for $9.99 a month (which includes over 50 games), the Premium tier for $14.99 monthly (more than 200 games), and the Ultimate tier for $22.99 monthly (more than 500 games). PC gamers without an Xbox console can subscribe to the PC only plan for $13.99 a month (which includes over 300 games).
