Flying mounts are essential for getting around Palworld, which you may have noticed features a deceptively huge map.

Sure, going from waypoint to waypoint feels like a walk in the park… until you’re faced with the ginormous cliffsides, which turn your little trek to a treacherous journey to Mordor. You can either attempt to climb your way up, or hop on the back of a flying Pal, which can be hard to find in their own right.

Read on for a full list of all flying mounts in Palworld, plus information on which flying mounts are the fastest, and where you can find all of them.

Update (July 14): This guide has been updated with information from Palworld‘s 1.0 update.

What is the best flying mount in Palworld?

Having a flying mount in Palworld is a game changer, regardless of which one you capture. They help you traverse the map and reach higher places that would otherwise require hours and a lot of patience. However, some are better than others.

At the top of the list, the best flying mount in Palworld is Jetragon. Sure, it’s the top-tier mount because it is the fastest one, but it has pros as well. Flying Jetragon consumes less stamina than with other mounts, and it recovers considerably faster.

You can only obtain a Jetragon later in the game, though. Because of that, and considering the long journey ahead until you find the top-tier flying mount, we’ve selected the best flying mounts to use as you progress through Palworld:

Best early game flying mounts in Palworld

While in the early stages of the game, between level 15-32, there are two solid flying mounts to look after. Nitewing is quite slow, but it’s the first you can obtain. Once you reach level 21, unlock the Vanwyrm saddle and go after this Pal, which is way better than Nitewing.

Best mid-game flying mounts in Palworld

The issue with mid-game flying mounts is that they’re not much better than the best early-game ones, so spending time chasing multiple flying Pals is not worthwhile. For most of the time, Ragnahawk is the best option. You can find it easily, and you won’t have to wait long to unlock its saddle.

Best late-game flying mounts in Palworld

Later in the game, once you have reached the island on the southwest side of the map where the level 68 PIDF Tower is located, you can go after the Suzaku Aqua. There are plenty near the Azure Tapestry fast travel spot. This is a great flying mount and it can easily take you to the above island where you can find Jetragon.
