Bohemia Interactive’s latest survival sandbox, Everwind, has officially kicked off its early access run this week, happily joining the growing ranks of multiplayer skyship RPGs. Readers might recall that this voxel game was originally known as Skyverse, but a trademark dispute led to the name change last year, just before the launch of what became a successful $53K Kickstarter.
“Everwind is a novel take on the RPG and Sandbox Survival genre from First-Person-Perspective,” Enjoy Studio says. “Embark on an adventure with your friends – Build a base on a flying island-ship, gather resources, craft, loot, and fight while you rise above the clouds to uncover the mysteries of this world!”
Already this week the studio has tweaked multiplayer desync bugs, rebalanced durability and repair, spiffed up loot drops, and fixed a bunch of bugs reported by early players.
How long will early access run? Well, the devs are expecting to have it out in Q1 of 2027; in fact, there’s a roadmap spanning the whole of 2026. Players can look forward to updates to airships, building, skill trees, enemies, AI, villagers, altitude, and story, with dedicated servers and multiple gameplay modes – hardcore, survival, and sandbox – also en route.
The game is currently on sale for $22.49 on Steam.
