007 First Light Isn’t Getting a Demo and Won’t Feature Multiple Endings

We’re less than three weeks out from 007 First Light’s launch, and even with a slick new gameplay trailer and previews, IO Interactive has more to reveal. In a new developer livestream, the team fielded questions from fans and reiterated a few points, including a day-one update for playing the campaign offline.

Unfortunately, those hoping to try out the super-spy’s latest blockbuster through a demo will be disappointed. “No plans for a demo. Unfortunately, no plans for a demo, but we’re so close to launch.” Which is a valid point, especially if the team is dedicating all its resources to the full release.

It’s also worth noting that there won’t be multiple endings or story outcomes. “This is a narrative experience. It has a predetermined ending that we’re really committed to delivering.” How that will pan out remains to be seen, but IO Interactive isn’t resolving his character as much as placing Bond on a “trajectory.” “It’s as much about how he changes MI6 and how he changes the characters around him.” If the studio ever pursues a sequel – which it’s certainly open to – then we could see further evolution to his character.

007 First Light launches on May 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here for more details on what to expect, or learn more about how the campaign will require the average player about 20 hours to complete. While the Nintendo Switch 2 version has been delayed to later this Summer, it could require more time to deliver.
