Unseen Reality announced its upcoming display-replacing XR glasses, URXR One, is set to launch a Kickstarter on August 4th.

URXR are essentially made for users specifically looking for a display replacement. Focused on displaying traditional content, like flatscreen games, film and spreadsheets, the MR glasses boast long-term user comfort thanks to 6DOF and 3DOF modes, the former of which is handled by a dual-camera SLAM tracking system.

Weighing in at 93g, URXR One is a pair of of lightweight mixed reality glasses built around mini pancake optics, which include dual 1.03-inch micro-OLED displays—2,448 x 2,064 resolution, ~36 pixels per degree, 90 Hz refresh rate, and a 90-degree diagonal field-of-view (FoV), measuring ~80 degrees horizontally by 56 degrees vertically.

Note: these aren’t birdbath style AR display glasses, like those offered by Viture or Xreal, but rather essentially a VR headset with passthrough video (like Meta Quest) handled by an onboard Spatial Processing Unit.

When it kicks off next week, the campaign is slated offer URXR One at a special Kickstarter price of $800 ahead of its $900 MSRP, with shipping targeted for mid-October 2026.

Notably, Unseen Reality says the display can be resized from “laptop-sized to 200 inches,” supporting both single and multiple virtual screens in either locked 3DOF, or ‘pinned’ spatial 6DOF mode.

Other features: user wear detection, ambient-light sensor, four forward-facing cameras, a six-axis IMU, and a four-microphone array. Custom prescription lens inserts are supported, and the IPD can be adjusted manually from 58 to 68 mm, the company says.

Since the glasses don’t feature onboard compute, URXR connects to compatible USB-C DisplayPort devices, such as laptops, phones, tablets, and gaming handhelds.

While compatible laptops, tablets and handhelds like Steam Deck can generally power URXR One directly over USB-C, other devices, like smartphones require the optional URXR Power Hub ($69) for power and video pass-through—a pocket-sized 10,000 mAh device capable of powering the glasses for three hours in addition to slow-charging the connected phone.

You can get the full details over on URXR’s Kickstarter campaign, which goes live on August 4th.
