South of Midnight Launches on March 31st for PS5

Compulsion Games has released a new critical acclaim trailer for South of Midnight, and in case you’re confused since it launched last year, this is to hype up the upcoming PS5 version. Previously announced for Spring, it’s officially out on March 31st.

Of course, that brings us to the second point of confusion – the Nintendo Switch 2 version. The development team didn’t confirm whether it would launch later or on the same day, so there’s little else to do but wait for more details.

Regardless, South of Midnight should make a strong addition to any action-adventure fan’s library. Currently available for Xbox Series X/S and PC, the story follows Hazel, who loses her mother and home in a flash flood. Seeking a way to find her, she learns about the Strands and her heritage as a Weaver.

What follows is a Southern Gothic fantasy where Hazel battles the Haints using enchanted weaponry. Perhaps the most notable aspect of the presentation, aside from the incredible soundtrack, is the stop-motion cutscenes, which further add to the feeling of an animated adventure.

For more details, check out our review of the Xbox version. South of Midnight crossed more than a million players within its first month, so its PS5 reception should be interesting.
