Fans of A Plague Tale will be taking a trip back in time on August 27th when Asobo Studio releases an unlikely prequel. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy follows Sophia, introduced in Requiem, as she explores the Minotaur’s Island. But why risk life and limb? Well, according to the head honcho of her group, it’s for the sake of a key.

This seemingly leads to the Minotaur’s treasure, though its true nature remains unknown. Regardless, even as Sophia and her friend, Leni, venture forth to claim it, something calls out to her. It seems an ancient civilization built the now-ruined temple within, and it’s far from quiet, as something pursues her throughout.

Theseus also plays a part, as you’ll experience his flashbacks, but it all ties back to the Macula in some way. Seeing as Sophia lost something as a child, and an odd scar is visible on her left arm, perhaps her ties to the place are deeper than you would think, especially since she needs to end things before the place “claims” her.

We’ll find out when Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy arrives in the coming weeks for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here for more extensive gameplay or check out our feature.
