With Resident Evil Requiem now available (and recording monstrous sales in its first week), it’s time for Capcom to focus on its next big single-player title – Pragmata. A new trailer was revealed during the latest Spotlight Showcase, shedding further light on the bond between Hugh and Diana. But that’s not all, as the publisher confirmed that the release date has been moved forward to April 17th.

We also learn more about what caused the disaster on the Lunar base – its AI, IDUS, sustained damage during a quake, causing it to go berserk. The goal is to stop IDUS and return to Earth. It’s easier said than done, especially with the new robot threats showcased, including a scorpion-like terror. There are also some quick buzz-saw-like beings that can catch you off guard if you’re not careful.

Pragmata already has a free demo available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Standalone from the base game, it provides an excellent introduction to the combat mechanics, from the different weapons that Hugh can wield to Diana’s hacking skills and unique modules. Besides simply acclimating players to the process of simultaneously shooting and hacking, it also encapsulates the exploration loop pretty well, culminating in a fun boss fight.

Of course, if the various trailers have revealed anything, it’s that things aren’t exactly on the level in Pragmata’s world. What’s Hugh’s backstory, especially since he was raised in an orphanage? Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
