With less than 12 hours to go, Palworld is readying to leave early access. Its 1.0 update promises tons of content on top of everything released thus far, and that’s not even accounting for what we don’t know. Add another surprise onto the pile because Pocketpair has announced that it won’t be increasing the game’s price after all.
“After much thought, we have decided not to raise the price of Palworld following the 1.0 release and will keep it at $29.99,” it said on Twitter. If you’ll recall, the original plan was to raise the price “at or closer” to the release of 1.0. You can even see it on the Steam page.
While this may very well be a last-minute decision, it’s coming off an incredible run for the title since it entered early access in January 2024. It recently crossed 40 million players, which is all the more impressive considering its initial budget was just $6.7 million.
“We are incredibly proud of how far Palworld has come. Thanks to the amazing support of our players, it has become a success beyond our wildest dreams.” Retaining the current price is a “small way of saying thank you” from the development team.
Palworld 1.0 launches on July 10th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PC at around 12:30 PM JST. Thus far, we’ve had a glimpse at new Pals, the new region, and even what could await in The World Tree, which serves as the conclusion for the main storyline. You should expect much, much more, though, especially with publishing manager and communications director John Buckley claiming some 27 pages of patch notes to edit.
