Don’t look now, but Old West-themed games are very much making a comeback as they eyeball the vacuum Rockstar left behind by maintenance-moding Red Dead Online. And next up to see if it can fill that hole is Frontier Legends, an upcoming Old West survivalbox from Neojac Entertainment.
If Neojac sounds familiar, it’s probably because the Canadian company has been around for over a decade, working on (and then quietly abandoning) MMOs games like Neo’s Land and Arcfall. It was also the originator of Atavism, an MMO-building platform. More recently, the team has swapped to survival sandboxes, having pubbed zombie survivalbox Junk Survivor and dinosaur survivalbox Athos in the last couple of years.
Its latest venture is Frontier Legends, which was actually running a demo earlier this spring but now is gearing up for a proper early access rollout at the end of the month.
“Neojac Entertainment is excited today to announce that Frontier Legends, their survival-crafting action-adventure set in the Old West, will launch into Early Access for Windows PCs via Steam on Friday, May 29, 2026! Set on the American frontier, Frontier Legends combines survival, crafting, exploration and settlement-building in an open-world Wild West adventure where players are free to carve their own path. Starting as a lone settler on the edge of civilization, players will gather resources, manage their needs, brave the wilderness, and gradually build a frontier town shaped by their choices.”
In addition to building your own town and putting NPCs to work managing it, you’ll be trying to survive the natural and human perils of the frontier, taming and riding horses, tackling quests, solving puzzles, hunting for treasure, and in multiplayer, deciding whether to team up with or tear down your fellow players. Anyhow, the trailer for this one is below.
