Welcome back to another roundup of MMOs and MMO-adjacent multiplayer games you’ve never heard of! There’s not really much of a binding tie among this news article’s selection of games beyond their MMORPG and multiplayer nature as well as the fact that their titles all end in a vowel. That’s fun, right?
Kaion Tale
We’ll kick things off with Kaion Tale, a 2-D MMORPG that we first caught wind of back in 2020. The indie team at Mobile Co Studios has just opened new servers for the pixel-y sandbox in the NA and the EU regions just last week, so those who are looking for a semi-fresh start are invited on over to give the game a peek. Also, it’s free-to-play if you’re curious.
Dominus Automa
Second in the list is Dominus Automa, the auto-grinding idle MMORPG from Metashift Labs that we spotlighted last March. The game has recently opened a playtest that offers up 10 locations to check out, 25 levels to earn, 24 skills to unlock, 20 enemies and three bosses to knock over, and the new Paladin class. Testing is scheduled to run from now until August 23rd.
Alea
Thirdly and lastly is Alea, Afterlife Games’ multiplayer “skill-first hero brawler” that promises intense combat and rapid matches that feature 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 arena brawls. The title held a weekend-long playtest a few weeks ago, which has since brought a host of fixes and updates being worked on including bug fixes, weapon cosmetics, balance tweaks, and a new character. Timing for another test isn’t outlined, but its Steam page projects a release sometime this year.
