Welcome back to another roundup of MMOs and MMO-adjacent multiplayer games you’ve never heard of! And if one of the titles in that list strikes familiar, then congratulations, you’re old! Come sit with us on these La-Z-Boys. We just made some lemon squares.

Above Land: Rhapsody

We’ll begin with Above Land: Rhapsody, a self-described “chaotic 1-3 player co-op action roguelite” that sees players wielding conventional fantasy weapons like swords and bows to significantly more unconventional ones like a folding chair, a megaphone, or a basketball, all while traveling through a comic book land and dealing with potentially weird modifiers such as yelling “mama” into a microphone to land crits. Yeah, this one is out there, and it plans a release sometime this year.

Myth War

This one technically isn’t new so much as a new-to-us revival: The original Myth War Online was a 2-D fantasy MMO that was shuttered in 2015 to make way for its sequel, but it looks like someone has been putting together a rogue server to revive the game and has most recently added 2nd Reborn characters. Those who want to relive those glory days can find instructions on the site, just bear in mind that it apparently does require joining the Discord to get things up and running.

Delverium

We close out this bundle of titles with Delverium, a 2-D pixel art survival sandbox that’s coming to early access on Tuesday, September 22nd. This one looks to blend exploration, farming, crafting, base-building, and dungeon crawling in procedurally generated maps for up to eight players as they settle the land, recruit NPCs, and face the threat of mysterious Faults that are corrupting the world.
