Marathon’s Assassin Runner Surfaces From the Shadows in New Trailer

Taking the fight to its recently revealed Destroyer Shell is the Assassin, a brand new Archetype for Marathon’s Runners. A stunning new trailer showcases how this addition brings a unique brand of sneaky subterfuge that could be the perfect counterfoil to the Destroyer’s more direct approach.

The trailer’s opening is a prelude to the quiet, controlled chaos that the Assassin can bring to the table, with a cool outfit overshadowed by a skill set that blends the best of Batman with the moveset of a rogue. The new Archetype might just be the one to pick for those of you who like to stick to the shadows, your foes left wondering where you’re going to strike from next.

Time will tell if this silent killer can match up to the rest of what Bungie’s upcoming PvPvE extraction FPS brings to the table, but for now, it looks like the Assassin could be the one to beat. However, its presence in the game showcases the sort of variety that could keep Marathon players coming back for more, especially in Bungie’s effort to create an experience that stands out in what’s shaping up to be quite a crowded genre.

This might be a battle that even the Destroyer might want to back down from when Marathon launches on March 6th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
