The Mudridge Cabin strongbox puzzle in Crimson Desert will probably look familiar to you because it’s a classic type of puzzle found in the real world, where you must slide tiles around a grid to create a complete picture. In this version, there are eight tiles in a nine-square grid, but the top three are already in the right place, so there are only five tiles you need to move around.

You can likely solve it through pure trial and error, but to save you the hassle, we have the complete Mudridge Cabin strongbox puzzle solution in Crimson Desert right here.

Mudridge Cabin can be found southeast of Unicorn Cliff, not too far from Pororin Village. There’ll be some bandits you need to take down, but after they’re dealt with, you can climb the legs of the cabin to get inside.

The screenshot above shows the puzzle as it will be when you first encounter it. To help solve the puzzle, we’ve numbered each tile (not the position), you’ll need to move the squares in this order:

  • 3 goes down
  • 2 goes right
  • 1 goes right
  • 4 goes up
  • 5 goes left
  • 1, which is now in the center, goes down
  • 4, which is now in the center left, goes right
  • 5, which is now in the bottom left, goes up
  • 1, which is now in the bottom center, goes left
  • 3, which is now in the bottom right, goes left

These ten moves are the quickest way to solve the puzzle and open the strongbox, which rewards you with a Flower Petal Earring. This grants +5 to your defense and gives you the Music Box ability. However, you’ll need to know how to steal to pick it up.

Just starting out in Crimson Desert? We have guides to help you learn the basics and refresh your memory on how some of its systems work. The world of Pywel is huge, so you might have a hard time deciding where to go first, but you can make your journey a little easier with the help of our interactive map. Along the way, make sure to learn a few life skills like fishing, logging, cooking, and mining.

We also have walkthroughs for main story quests like “Abyss Without Balance” and “Familiar Curses,” and puzzles in the Abyss like the Root’s End.
