Gamescom 2026: Multiplayer creature collectors Aniimo and Roco Kingdom announce release plans

Hey, who here wants more creature collecting multiplayer RPGs in their library? If you happened to have said “no,” then you’ll probably want to ignore the news out of both Aniimo and Roco Kingdom, two new games in the sub-genre that made some release announcements during this year’s Gamescom event.

First, Aniimo announced that it has tied down a launch date of Wednesday, September 16th, on Xbox X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, while launch on iOS and Android is slated a week later on September 23rd. It should be noted that developer Pawprint Studio has admitted that AI dev tools were used in “several ways,” and only made that admittance through its Discord and not on its Steam page at the time of this writing.

As for Roco Kingdom, a creature collector from developer Morefun Studios that has a long history in its native China, will be making a global release soon, with plans for a closed beta test this October. Once again we find no disclosure of gen-AI tool use, but this studio is a subsidiary of Tencent, a company that demonstrated gen-AI tool use during this year’s GDC, and once more the game’s Steam page offers no AI tool disclosure.
