With EA Sports College Football 27 being the first entry in the series to make its way to PC, the company has now revealed more details about some of the platform-specific features of the title. Along with this, EA has also confirmed its performance targets across various PC specs.

When it comes to PC hardware, the minimum specs required to run College Football 27 at 1080p and 60 FPS on the “Low” preset are an Intel Core i3-10300 or an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, or an Intel Arc A580 GPU, and 12 GB of RAM. For better visuals at the “High” preset at 1440p and 60 FPS, the company recommends an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, an Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, or an Intel Arc B580 GPU, and 16 GB of RAM.

For the best visuals on the “High” preset and 4K resolution with 60 FPS, EA says that you’ll need an Intel Core i7-11700 or an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X CPU, and either an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 or an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU, along with 16 GB of RAM.

Further in the post, EA has provided a rundown of the various display settings that PC players of EA Sports College Football 27 will have access to. These include Window Mode options to switch between fullscreen and borderless modes, Resolution options, the ability to set a cap on the game’s Frame Rate, and general toggles for global and cutscene visual quality.

Finer control over these settings is available through the Advanced Options menu, giving players access to things like HDR toggles, Lighting Quality presets, Hair quality presets, the ability to choose which GPU is used by the game, and even the ability to display the game’s frame rate for benchmarking purposes.

When it comes to visual quality settings, there are plenty of ways to further finetune how the game looks, like adjusting the quality of crowds, the mesh, shadows, and VFX. Along with this, players can also enable the addition of individual 3D blades of grass, making the turf look more realistic in the process.

As for why EA has decided to split visual settings between gameplay and cutscenes, the company has noted that they tend to have different performance needs. In an example, it said that players on weaker hardware might want to aim for higher frame rates in gameplay, while cutscene settings, which also apply to replays and team entrances, can be set to higher quality levels without affecting gameplay.

EA Sports College Football 27 is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on July 9th. The title was unveiled back in May, with EA giving us a look at the cover athletes for the game. More details were revealed later, with many new additions coming to College Football 27, such as the lack of scholarships in pre-season and new Dynasty blueprints.
