Update 1.4 is coming to Dying Light: The Beast this week, and it’s bringing one of the most requested features: New Game Plus. There are countless mentions on social media about players wanting the opportunity to play through Kyle’s story again while retaining their gear and skills, and while it was announced to be in the works in a dev blog last month, we now know it’s arriving very soon.

“Players can replay Kyle’s story while keeping all gear, weapons, and character progression from their first playthrough,” reads a news release. “Enemy difficulty is increased, but higher-tier weapons and loot appear to match the challenge. New Game Plus can be repeated multiple times, with each completed run further raising the game’s difficulty and granting access to even stronger and rarer weapons, as well as the toughest enemies in Castor Woods.”

Alongside New Game Plus, Legend Levels also return, “the classic Dying Light endgame progression system that extends characters beyond the main skill tree.” The higher you set the difficulty, combined with New Game Plus, the more XP you get, so you can progress much quicker. These Legend Points can be used on passive upgrades, including increased health and stronger Beast Mode performance.

This update also brings some visual enhancements, including ray tracing on PC, and resolutions for “over 70 graphical issues.” Developer Techland added that this update has been “strongly driven by community feedback,” fixing issues based on their input, such as “over 200 parkour and environment navigation issues.” You can read the full patch notes here.

If you play between Thursday, Nov. 27 and Tuesday, Dec. 2, you’ll receive the Bloody Bowie Knife, and double XP is enabled until Sunday, Nov. 30.
