Sci-fi cooperative extraction shooter Drifters: Blackout Crew has dropped its PC VR demo in anticipation of next week’s Steam Next Fest.

Blackout Crew is the latest project from Salmi Games (Sweet Surrender), a co-op PvE FPS where you and your friend have to venture into a foreign world to get resources for your dying mothership and unlock or upgrade your weapons and tools.

Salmi has been conducting regular playtests for months, improving performance, adding new features and overhauling the weapon system as detailed in a recent developer blog on its YouTube channel. Personally, I’m looking forward to trying the flamethrower.

Blackout Crew was first revealed at the VR Games Showcase in June, showcasing Salmi’s signature cel shaded art style and sci-fi aesthetic that carries over from Sweet Surrender. We had a chance to speak with Salmi Games founder Yacine Salmi in an episode of the UploadVR Gamescast.

Drifters: Blackout Crew’s demo is available now on Steam.
