Crimson Desert Has Gone Gold Nearly 2 Months Before Launch

After weathering more than its share of delays, Pearl Abyss has announced that Crimson Desert has gone gold. Principle development is thus complete, and it’s currently being sent for console certification and physical disc manufacturing, though you can bet that the team is working on a day-one patch in the meantime.

And while another delay is always possible, the action RPG’s current status lines up with plans to send out review codes one month before launch. As marketing and strategic planning expert Will Powers said in an interview with New Game+ Showcase, “I’m giving people a month with the game. Please. I think you’re going to need it.”

With Pywel apparently larger than Red Dead Redemption 2’s map and “at least” twice the size of the open world in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, it’s understandable. Of course, the tweet tells fans to stay tuned for “more news,” so there could be even more details in the coming months. Maybe we’ll finally learn more about the story, beyond Greymane mercenary Kliff on a journey to find his allies.

Launching on March 19th, Crimson Desert will be available on March 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Retailing for $69.99, it includes pilotable mechs, mechanical dragons as bosses, floating isles with puzzles, an extensive combat system with magic and wrestling moves, dozens of factions – it might be easier to list what isn’t in the game. Either way, it looks to be 2026’s breakout release, and we can’t wait to see more.

We’re thrilled to announce that #CrimsonDesert has gone gold!
