Infinity Ward and Activision have released a new trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, this time around focusing on its multiplayer gameplay. The trailer, which you can check out below, clocks in at almost 3 minutes in length, and showcases some of the maps and gameplay from the shooter.
The entire video is essentially a montage with a hip hop backing track, showcasing the pure mayhem players will be capable of in the Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer modes. While details about game modes and other aspects haven’t been discussed, we do get a good idea about some of the Kill Streaks that players will be able to use.
The trailer also dedicates some time to the brand-new Kill Box mode, which is capable of generating a variety of different maps between rounds, each with different game modes. Along with this, those looking forward to a combination of infantry and vehicular gameplay can also look forward to Ground War. The trailer wraps things up by showing off how its nuke Kill Streak will look in the game.
The multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will feature 12 6v6 maps and the Kill Block and Ground War modes right from launch. The maps have been described as being “tactically distinct locations” from around the world. There will also be plenty of variety, from maps focused on close-quarters combat to those that focus more on long sight lines that can be useful for snipers.
Recently, Infinity Ward and Activision had offered further details about the Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer; specifically, how PC players would have to make sure that their hardware is TPM 2.0 compatible and Secure Boot is enabled. With a video, the developers explained that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 needs the two features to be active in order to ensure that its Ricochet Anti-Cheat system does its job.
All of these details about the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 come just days before the title kicks off its closed beta for those who pre-ordered the title on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The beta is going to start on August 21st and will continue until August 25th for its first run. This will then be followed up by a larger beta available to everyone on August 28th, ending on September 1st.
Throughout the beta, players will be able to unlock 19 weapons and a host of game modes, including Search and Destroy. Kill Block will also be available during the beta.
Fans of Call of Duty’s single-player campaigns can check out the recent trailer that gave us our first look at one of the upcoming title’s missions – “Traffic”. The trailer showed off how Captain Price meets with Valeria from Modern Warfare 2 and strikes up an unlikely alliance. We also get a look at what El Sin Nombre’s plans might be, raising further questions about why he wants to get to Paris. The trailer also leaves lingering questions, like how any of this relates to hunting down Makarov.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23rd.
