We’ve been quite eager to hear more about the Call of Duty film adaptation ever since its announcement at CinemaCon this year. Well, our wish has now come true with a revelation about it from none other than director Peter Berg himself, who tweeted that it’s going to be set in the Modern Warfare universe when it releases on June 30th, 2028 after an appearance at FanaticsFest.
Given that the screenplay is from Taylor Sheridan of Sicaro and Yellowstone fame, we think it’s a safe bet to assume that Captain John Price is going to be a big part of its story. Of course, our guesses on specifics beyond that are as good as yours with no other details available at this time. We did say that filming is likely to begin in the later part of this year, and that pre-production would likely wrap up by late 2027. That’s a lot of time for more news about this one to come up, and you can bet we’re going to be here telling you all about it
For now, it’s back to crossing the days off our calendars until this one’s ready for us to feast our eyes on. In the meantime, the next entry in the franchise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, launches on October 23rd with a beta set for late August.
