Bigscreen Past 2 orders flooded in final Thursday at a shocking tempo. Now, the PC VR headset maker notes that its subsequent slim and light-weight headset outsold the unique in 24 hours by a formidable margin, making its first day or gross sales equal to 6 months of what it did with Past 1.

We’ve already heard some spectacular stats following Bigscreen’s launch for Past 2 orders. In 25 minutes, Past 2 outsold the primary day of Past 1 gross sales. Within the first hour, they doubled Past 1 launch day gross sales. Inside 10 hours of launching orders, Past 2 offered greater than the primary 4 months of Past 1 gross sales.

In an X publish on Friday, Bigscreen founder and CEO Darshan Shankar revealed probably the most spectacular gross sales stat but:

“Within the first 24 hours, Past 2 has offered 10 TIMES as many Past 1s offered on its launch day 2 years in the past. Within the first 24 hours, Past 2 has offered as a lot as Past 1 did in its first 6 months of gross sales. That’s distinctive.”

Shankar says the corporate did this with zero advert spend, noting “[w]e didn’t pay influencers to pump our product. We didn’t pay an company for an costly video. No promoting.”

The corporate did nevertheless ship just a few early Past 2 items to reviewers, which Shankar says was “[l]ike 10 items,” which, amongst others, included Examined, Thrillseeker, MRTV and VR Flight Sim Man.

Whereas it’s packing in the identical twin 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED shows as the unique Past, the largest enchancment total is the headset’s bigger field-of-view (FOV) and higher readability due to the inclusion of a brand new pancake lens design. This bumps Past 2 to a 116-degree diagonal FOV over the unique’s 102-degree diagonal FOV, and in addition contains an adjustable IPD mechanism in a lighter 107g design.
