The Xbox Partner Showcase has revealed a very interesting take on AI, with indie studio Vivix’s Artificial Detective taking the event by storm with an exciting reveal trailer.

Humanity has vanished from the streets of Conglomerate North, and rogue machines run rampant in its dystopian world. You step into the shoes of AD 2846, a robot detective with a cool look and sassy attitude. As the best (and only) detective around, you guide him as he attempts to solve the mystery behind the world’s current state, accompanied by a child companion named Mowglie, who looks like she could melt even his cold metal heart. Oh, and there’s an absolutely adorable robot dog that’s going to be helping you in your investigation.

AD 2846’s memories are a little hazy, but he does remember being a sidekick to a human detective back in the day. That’s an interesting premise for a smart-mouthed protagonist, and Artificial Detective’s reveal trailer, showcased below, conveys a sense of wit, charm, and style that underpins its gameplay. With stunning visuals and combat that’s looking pretty darn good, this is definitely an indie title to watch out for when it releases sometime in the near (or distant) future.
