Are you ready to game like it’s two decades ago? If so, you can hop into a digital time machine and play Angels Online, a 2006-era Korean MMO that relaunched on Wednesday after being absent from the scene for a good while.
Angels Online Global (as it’s now being called) is a colorful 2-D MMO with a “highly flexible skill system,” four factions to join, housing, pet wrangling, lots of minigames, and — oh yes — mech mounts. This version features faster leveling, automatic chat translation, and larger inventory space.
Developer Userjoy hopes to tempt gamers to try out Angels Online with a 21-day login campaign that pays out all sorts of goodies. It’s also doing a collab with Bugcat Capoo, a super cute Taiwanese webcomic.
