Absolum has just been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, after it made its debut on the Xbox Series X|S earlier this year. You can preorder a physical copy with Silver Lining Direct, which also brought out versions for the Switch and PS5.

Absolum is set in the world of Talahm, where magic has been outlawed by Azra, a rather nasty figure whom your group stands in resistance to. You have four characters with varying skill sets, each of whom can bring a whole lot of hurt to anyone foolish enough to stand in their way. You’re going to need all the support you can get as you engage with a combat system that has a surprising amount of depth and comes with quite the learning curve.

Developed by Guard Crush Games, it’s a very impressive blend of roguelite and beat ’em up mechanics that’s also got incredible world-building and a solid story, rounding out an experience that can have you quite invested with every run. We found a lot to like about its gameplay and overall vibe in our review, and would say it’s quite easy to recommend if you’re thinking of diving in on the Switch 2.

There’s an accompanying trailer for the announcement showcasing two of your companions in action as they rise to the defense of one of Talahm’s residents. It should give you a good idea of the game’s unique visual style and a glimpse of what it looks like in action.
