    • Return to the water intake below the Water Treatment Control building
    • Search the swamp for traces of the barrel’s origins

The Arc Raiders ‘A Toxic Trail’ quest sees you return to the location of a previous quest, ‘Source of Contamination.’ Where you had to search Water Treatment Control for the toxic barrel dumped in the swamp in that quest though, now you need to figure out who put it there, and why.

This quest was added with the Cold Snap update in December, and chances are, you either have or will get both ‘The Clean Dream’ and ‘Paving The Way’ to complete too, so check out our guides for both of them while you’re at it. For now though, here’s where you need to go to complete ‘A Toxic Trail’ in Arc Raiders.

As mentioned, you’re returning to the same location you finished the ‘Source of Contamination’ quest. This is on Dam Battlegrounds near Water Treatment Control, but you also need to head a little further out when you get there.

Water Treatment Control is marked on the map, and the spot you’re looking for is on the north side, where the pipes flow into the swamp above. Spy the barrel in the murky water below, then when you’re next to it, you’ll be told to “search the swamp for traces of the barrel’s origins.”

This is a vague objective, but you don’t need to go very far. A stone’s throw north-west is where you’ll find a flatbed truck in the swamp river, with barrels loaded on the back. Pretty suspicious, right?

Walk up to the truck and you’ll be prompted to take a photo of the barrel truck, followed by searching the truck for clues about the saboteur’s identity. There are three locations you take the photo from, all indicated right next to the truck, then you can search the door for a clue to the saboteur’s identity. This will grant you a Spaceport Warehouse key, which will come in very handy. Stick that in your backpack and get the heck outta dodge, because that’s the quest complete.
