We’ll be honest, this one sounds like a bit of a mélange, but it also could be an interesting combination. The game is called Fishpals and, as one would expect, there’s pals and fishing to be had, on top of dungeon running, house decorating, village living, and creature hatching. Like we said, there’s a bunch of things happening at once here.
“A good fishing spot is even better with company. Fishpals is a cozy multiplayer adventure about catching fish, making a home, and getting to know a colorful island and the characters who live there.”
This game lets up to 16 people come together to explore the area, looking to catch fish in various lakes, rivers, and oceans to find rare catches. The island home also has a cast of creature friends to get acquainted with, a house that can be decorated, the ability to find creature eggs to hatch, and a chilled-out Fishcade area to hang out in. There are also four-player dungeons, evidently.
The game is scheduled to release on Friday, October 30th, as a free-to-play title, though details on its monetization aren’t shared. The game’s Steam page does have an AI disclosure that confirms gen AI was used to create sound effects, some voice audio, and some store page text.
