While AAA games take the spotlight during Summer Game Fest and at The Game Awards, indies and solo devs get their own time to shine with the Triple-i Initiative showcase. The organization’s first stream in April included the exciting reveals of Temtem: Pioneers, Prove You’re Human, and Graveyard Keeper 2.
The first-ever fall Triple-i Initiative stream didn’t disappoint either. It was chock-full of new game reveals, release date announcements, and a plethora of new demos that are now live. Here is everything announced during the showcase. I hope you have your wishlists open.
A new Among Us game arrives next year
Among Us Story: On Guard received a Feb. 17, 2027 release date for mobile, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Windows PC. It’s a narrative-focused adventure where you’ll solve murders and suss out the imposters on a spaceship.
Astral Ascent crosses over with 2025 GOTY Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Astral Ascent is a hack-and-slash roguelike with gorgeous pixel art. Its new update, which is available now, brings the characters of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 into the fold, marking the 2025 GOTY winner’s first crossover. And, yes, you can hug Esquie.
Subnautica 2 heads to Dave the Diver in 2027
Dave the Diver has received a few DLC packs since its 2022 launch, and even crossed over with the Yakuza/Like A Dragon series in one last year. Its final DLC will be a crossover with Subnautica 2 as the underwater survival sim’s deadly oceans and alien sea creatures head to Dave the Diver in early 2027.
Co-op mouse game Hela gets a demo
Hela: of Mice & Magic gets its first demo, and you can check it out on Steam. It introduces the heartwarming and cozy world the little mice live in as well as its gameplay mechanics, which can be tackled solo or with a friend on the couch. The full version will have online multiplayer for groups of up to four players.
ReVamp arrives in March
Defend Dracula’s fortress in ReVamp, the upcoming castle defense roguelike from the studio behind the Moonlighter series. It’s slated for a March 25, 2027 release for Windows PC, and its first playtest is now live.
Escape the Backrooms is about to get even more backrooms
It’s a good time to be a fan of creepy corridors as Escape the Backrooms is getting new content this year. New skins will arrive in October ahead of December’s “After Party Update,” which will add a new liminal space to escape from.
Strange Scaffold announces yet another game
Strange Scaffold, the studio behind 2026’s Truck-kun is Supporting Me from Another World?!, Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator, and I Am Your Beast — Quitting Time, just can’t slow down. It announced Gods with Badges during the showcase, a tactics game about the “power dynamics and institutional incentives of law enforcement,” according to its official description.
Matthew Mercer and Sam Riegel join Rockbeasts, out in January
Critical Role is co-publishing Lichthund’s Rockbeasts, and that partnership will go even deeper: Critical Role’s Matthew Mercer and Sam Riegel are part of the music RPG’s cast. A demo is available now, and the full game will be released in January 2027 for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
New deckbuilder announced from the designer of The Witcher’s Gwent
Developer Dream Reality Interactive has partnered with Damien Monnier, the designer behind The Witcher 3‘s Gwent and Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, for Lazare’s Sacrifice, a newly announced deckbuilder set during the French Revolution. Learn the truth behind your imprisonment through a series of intense card battles in spring 2027.
Outward 2 releases in early access in February
Outward 2 hits early access on Feb. 8, 2027. It’s a challenging game, as the trailer makes clear, that blends action RPG elements with survival mechanics. It’s meant to be the “ultimate simulation of an adventurer’s life” with plenty of hardships, according to its official description.
The Escapists 3 announced for 2027
The Escapists series gets a new entry for the first time in a decade when The Escapists 3 launches for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X in 2027. The newly announced sequel will once again task players with breaking out of a variety of prisons. Instead of being in 2D like the previous games, The Escapists 3 will have a 3D world with cute little chibi characters.

- ARPG Aftergods, about a god who survived Ragnarök, announced by the team behind Tribes of Midgard.
- Brotato‘s “Primal Dread” DLC launches Nov. 2 on Windows PC. It will arrive on consoles and mobile early next year.
- Co-op shooter Canyons gets a November 2027 release window.
- Co-op platformer Chained Together, about escaping Hell, gets its first new map on Nov. 12.
- Isometric survival horror Dandelion Void gets its first demo, and you can play it now ahead of the game’s 2027 early access launch.
- Russian roulette drinking game Drunken Goddess Reflux gets a demo Oct. 19 ahead of its Dec. 8 launch.
- “Cryptography thriller” False Echo now has a demo, and the full game launches in spring 2027.
- Cozy co-op horror game Haunted Paws gets a Steam demo today, and the full game was just announced to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as well.
- Defend your home in Isle Goblin‘s first playtest, which is now live on Steam.
- Jiaohun is a newly announced Y2K-era horror game set in China that will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC next year.
- Strategy game Kingdom Two Crowns gets Ancient Egypt-inspired DLC sometime this year.
- Little Prince Tyger is a very cool and creepy-looking roguelike that was just announced, and you can hop into a playtest now.
- Co-op survival horror game Living Hell was just announced with a summer 2027 release window, and its first playtest is now live.
- Puzzle game Machinarium 2 announced 17 years after the first game was released.
- Try to escape the gaze and clutches of a colossal police officer in Militsioner‘s demo, which is available now.
- Inscryption creator Daniel Mullins’ next game Pony Island 2: Panda Circus has a playtest now live, and the first game is free on Steam for a limited time.
- Retro Soulslike Prison of Husks gets a new demo and a Jan. 27, 2027 release date.
- Horror delivery game Prospice: Anomalous Logistics gets a demo ahead of its 2027 launch.
- Gearbox shadowdrops new Risk of Rain 2 DLC, “Hallowed Concepts.”
- RTS Stronghold 4 will launch Dec. 7, and it’s getting a new demo today.
- Roguelike FPS Sulfur launches into 1.0 on Oct. 28 and heads to consoles in the process.
- Philosophical puzzle game The Talos Principle 3 shows off its gameplay in a new trailer.
- Co-op survival adventure game Too Deep to Quit gets its first demo on Steam.
