The Silent Hill series of games have always had multiple potential outcomes to their storylines, and Silent Hill: Townfall is no different in that regard. There are five distinct endings to be discovered, including two that are exclusive to the post-completion New Game Plus mode.

This guide for Silent Hill: Townfall is an explainer on how to unlock all five possible endings for the story.

Normal Endings

The initial playthrough endings do not rely on you making any specific choices, but are more dependent on your general style of play instead. This includes your bloodthirstiness, sense for exploration, and lore discovery.

Abandoned Ending

The absolute easiest ending is also the worst outcome to have, and is a free-for-all with kills and self-revives on Simon’s part. You can also ignore the various collectibles.

As a matter of fact, this should be your default objective on your first playthrough in normal mode, so that you can combine it with not having to use manual saves, and thus fulfil the criteria for the ‘Reject The Help’ achievement/trophy. Two birds, one stone.

This ending unlocks the ‘Just Making Things Worse’ achievement/trophy.

Justice Ending

A relatively easy ending to get, this good or ideal outcome requires you to have a fairly high number of points in an opaque scoring system that is not accessible anywhere in the game itself. Having to score positively rather than driving it into the ground as with the Abandoned ending, can somewhat limit your actions during a second playthrough.

Your best bet is to generally avoid kills while playing as Simon, and acquire as many Discoveries as you can.

Having to revive Simon through use of the Filled IV Bags and its variant, the Enhanced IV Bag, is even worse for scoring. Aside from those two, the other healing items are freely usable, across the board.

The only thing Zoe needs to watch out for is taking damage during Chapter 7: The Patient.

And neither her kills nor Richard’s count negatively as far as the endings go.

This ending unlocks the ‘For St. Amelia’ achievement/trophy.

Forever Ending

The hardest ending to unlock is actually considered to be the normal story outcome, and is made difficult by having a fairly narrow window of points to score within, in order to meet its criteria.

Since kills and self-revives are the key to losing points, try retaining a manual save towards the very end of the game, and then both kill and be killed a lot right before the end.

This ending unlocks the ‘Here To Stay’ achievement/trophy.

New Game Plus Endings

While considered to be joke endings, these do have achievements/trophies to collect.

Dog Ending

The first of the two New Game Plus endings, this one simply requires you to collect three distinct coins and then insert them into large, dog-shaped piggy banks:

The Bronze Coin can be found on shelving in the rear room of the Video Star store in south-west Shorefront District – South.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind bank can be found in the vicinity of the Pharmacy in north-east Shorefront District – South.

The Silver Coin can be found on shelving in a yard on the right of the intersection in Clara Woods.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind bank can be found in the laundry behind the post office in central Clara Woods Ground Level, after getting a hold of some bolt cutters.

The final Gold Coin can be found atop a control console in Room 793, but you will need to unlock it at the same time you do the door to the valve using the panel.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind bank can be found directly in your path as you leave this section.

You will still need to defeat the end boss to actually get the ending of course.

This ending unlocks the ‘Let’s Talk This Out’ achievement/trophy.

Sci-fi Ending

The second of the two NG+ endings requires interacting with a trio of books this time, as well as acquiring a keycard:

Find Strange Book 1 in the bedroom of Zoe’s House, peeking out from under the nightstand, with a hairdryer lying on the ground nearby as well.

After accepting Richard’s gift, enter the hotel in Shorefront District – South, and head upstairs to the symbol combination-locked door. This can be unlocked using the hints provided by the Strange Postcards. Once unlocked, collect the Strange Access Card from atop the nightstand.

Collect Strange Book 2 from the middle level of a bookshelf in a shop located at the very south-west corner of the Clara Woods Ground Level.

And lastly, Strange Book 3 can be found atop a table in Room 621, but you will need to unlock it at the same time you do the door to the valve using the panel.

As you near the end and the door that triggers the Simon cutscene with his IV, note the keypad on the left wall. Use the Strange Access Card on it, and this will set in motion the Sci-fi ending the instant you go through the door itself, skipping the boss fight and epilogue entirely.

This ending unlocks the ‘Sci-fi-lent Hill’ achievement/trophy.

Those are all five possible endings to be experienced in Silent Hill: Townfall and how to get them.
