Aion 2 confirms time-delayed content from the Korean launch and a lack of crossplay

If you were hoping that Aion 2 would get its global launch with all of the quality-of-life changes that have arrived in the game following its initial launch in South Korea, you’ll be happy to learn that this will be the case. If you were hoping for version parity with that version, however, you will be disappointed. WccfTech recently had a chance to interview the Aion 2 team, and they confirmed that the version launching worldwide will feature the quality of life improvements that have been rolled out over time, but not the full content that has been added over the course of a year. Similarly, while a console launch is planned, there will not be content parity between the PC and console versions, meaning that crossplay is unlikely.

The game’s mobile version will also not be coming over, but the game will be balanced to minimize forced PvP interactions. While there is an assumption that South Korean players prefer PvP, that trend has apparently been reversing, meaning that the direction moving forward is to keep a balance and keep PvP an optional component. So there are some reasons to be sad if you were expecting the game to be fully multi-platform and crossplay enabled, but the designers are clearly working with intent to put their best foot forward for the global launch.
