If you read our recent report on Kakao’s Q2 financials, you might have noticed how the publisher was talking up one specific game it was bringing over to this year’s Gamescom: God Save Birmingham, a title set in the medieval town of the same name that tasks players with surviving a zombie plague. We can now say that “players” here means multiplayer, as the game’s latest trailer has officially confirmed multiplayer co-op.
Regarding the game itself, this survival title leans heavily on being “highly tactile” and “physics-based,” with every item in the game capable of being utilized in creative ways, though players will also have to worry about falling too high or being tripped hard enough that they lose a weapon. As for the rest of its gameplay beats, that features some “hardcore” survival hallmarks like scavenging for food, clean water, warmth, and shelter.
As for multiplayer, that looks to allow up to three players to band together in order to survive in a zombie-filled 14th century English hellscape. God Save Birmingham is slated to begin early access soon, with multiplayer available right from the very start. You can see how that looks in the video below.
