More than 11 years after its launch, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be the center of attention at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25th. That’s because CD Projekt RED is finally revealing its new expansion, Songs of the Past, which launches in 2027. It’s anyone’s guess what could be revealed, but we may see more information throughout the week via the developer’s REDstreams.
Celebrating five years of the broadcast, it’s live daily from Gamescom from August 26th to 30th, from 10 AM to 7 PM CEST. And while you can expect the usual interviews, guests and behind-the-scenes stories, there are also “game previews.” Why plural, especially when Songs of the Past is its only confirmed title for the show?
Well, The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 are in development, though chances of the latter suddenly appearing on a REDstream could be slim since it hasn’t had an official reveal. CD Projekt RED promised “detailed” schedules for each day when Gamescom kicks off, so perhaps it’s waiting to drop something on Opening Night Live before confirming what’s in store.
Aside from The Witcher 3’s Songs of the Past reveal, the upcoming showcase will feature titles such as Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, Silent Hill: Townfall, Ananta, Metro 2039 and much more. It airs at 11 PM PT/2 PM ET.
