It’s new patch day for Final Fantasy 14. Patch 7.55 brings a number of changes and additions to Square Enix’s MMO as it winds down the Dawntrail expansion and prepares for next year’s Evercold. The latest patch marks the end of a number of long-running quest series and tweaks one of game’s most difficult encounters.

Warriors of Light will be thrilled that 7.55 brings the conclusion of the Phantom Weapons relic quest line. That means all of Dawntrail’s relic weapons can be upgraded to their final tier, with Square Enix also reducing the cost to enhance any subsequent Phantom Weapons after players obtain their first. Completing the Phantom Weapons quest will involve exploring the newly added North Horn within Occult Crescent, Dawntrail‘s massive field operation. The full patch notes include an extensive rundown of everything added to Occult Crescent’s complex gameplay systems, including the introduction of Blue and Black Mages as phantom jobs.

Patch 7.55 also marks the end of the Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures. The Hildibrand quests continue to be some of the funniest storylines in Final Fantasy 14, and Dawntrail has been no different. While it will be sad to say goodbye to Hildibrand for now, Square Enix is sure to bring him back for more fun in Evercold. Another set of content concluding in patch 7.55 is the allied society quests.

Players who have continued to struggle with Dancing Mad (Ultimate) will find yet another slight update to the challenging raid in patch 7.55. Visibility for Celestriad, an ability Kefka uses in the fifth and final phase of the fight, was improved by enlarging elemental icons used for the mechanic. Last month Square Enix pushed a hotfix last month that fixed an annoying segment involving panels that sent players in different directions. So congratulations on clearing Dancing Mad (Ultimate) after this patch, even if people will say it was harder before.

Finally, patch 7.55 adds a number of cosmetic items including a new hairstyle, mounts, emotes, and several furnishings. The standout, however, is the latest chocobo barding, which adorns your trusty steed in a picnic-ready outfit complete with a large bonnet.
