We’ve had our eye on NCsoft’s Cinder City for years now; you might recall it was once touted to investors as Project LLL. But since last year, the Korean games giant has been plotting a big 2026 launch for the “cinematic shooter,” and now it’s rolled up to Steam for your wishlisting pleasure and dropped a new video and pics to boot.
“The video showcases several key elements of the game, including dystopian Seoul overrun by mutated creatures and rampant criminal organizations, a narrative-driven story centered on Seven’s mission to rescue his daughter Joi, and an open-world multiplayer PvE experience,” NCsoft and studio BigFire Games say. “Set in a post-apocalyptic Seoul, Cinder City delivers a cinematic shooter experience through immersive visuals, a massive open world, and large-scale multiplayer PvE gameplay that encourages players to cooperate as they take on challenges throughout the city.”
Worth noting is that NCsoft has previously and consistently called this game an “MMO” and an “MMO tactical shooter,” but it is not flagged that way on Steam today, nor did today’s press release refer to it as such.
