Welcome back to another roundup of MMOs and MMO-adjacent multiplayer games you’ve never heard of! And if you’re a regular reader of the site, first of all thanks, and second of all you probably recognize at least one of the three titles in that headline. Either way, let’s dig in!
Prado Traveler
First up is a rather unique game that’s kind of adjacent to our genre (at least thematically) called Prado Traveler. This self-described “walking RPG” for iOS and Android devices lets players select a class and record their walked steps, which in turn lets them flip over cards to empower their character in either solo or with parties of friends. Reader FibroJedi pointed out that the game recently added pixel art avatars, which further personalize the experience.
Delphiniums Rise
Next up is a game that is squarely in our wheelhouse: Delphiniums Rise. This game from two-person indie Delphinium Studio is a full-loot FFA PvP game set in a “brutal Arthurian world” with gear-specific character builds, six races, and classic tab-target combat, all done in an equally evocative top-down perspective. The game is entering closed alpha in June for those who are Patreon backers of certain tiers, which the studio says will ensure that “the people who are most passionate about this game” get in first.
Serpent’s Gaze
Last but not least, we highlight Serpent’s Gaze, a co-op Soulslike that we first started covering at the top of the year. This one has officially begun its early access development period just as promised, and it appears to be doing reasonably well thus far, earning a “very positive” review score on Steam, while developer Feeble Minds has been cranking out the hotfixes.
