Following a relatively short teaser stream, Activision and Infinity Ward have officially announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Launching on October 23rd for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and yes, Nintendo Switch 2, the story focuses on North Korea invading South Korea, turning the Korean Peninsula into a warzone. Check out the first trailer below.
Alongside a squad of South Korean troops on the frontlines, players also catch up with Captain Price. Sporting a trimmed beard and hair, he’s engaged in a “personal war” of vengeance, having seemingly cut ties with Task Force 141. Such methods bring him face-to-face with his old friend Ghost, as they seemingly square up.
Of course, this is a Modern Warfare title, so you’ll embark on a globe-trotting adventure in locations like Paris, New York and even Mumbai. It’s pretty intense, especially the sequences that show Korean forces moving through a village, pulling out and threatening civilians.
Aside from the campaign, DMZ also returns. The extraction mode sees players going behind enemy lines and completing different objectives before deciding when to exfil. It will be revealed on June 7th – the same date as the Xbox Games Showcase and Gears of War: E-Day Direct, so that’s one other title confirmed for the show. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
