Street Fighter 6 is Introducing Random Avatar Matches Alongside Ingrid On May 28

As if Ingrid joining Street Fighter 6’s playable roster wasn’t enough, Capcom has gone and thrown in new game modes designed to help you grow your Avatar.

First up is Random Avatar Matches, a matchmaking system meant to maintain a level playing field by opening up all the gear and special abilities, gauge limit unlocks, accessories, and Super Arts while using Level Sync to ensure your opponent is capable of going toe to toe with you. That’s an interesting way to guarantee match-ups that could push your skills to their absolute limit.

Then there’s Avatar Arcade, which pits you against a line-up of CPU-controlled Masters, each of which has special rewards and individual progression bars to unlock. Your Avatar gets to level up while also picking up loads of new stuff and more, making this a great place to grind out a few levels. What’s more, you can choose to either spar with specific masters or take on a bunch of them with Battle Tour. It’s a great alternative to World Tour, especially for those who want to engage in non-level-synced Avatar battles through the Battle Hub.

We’re curious to see whether Ingrid’s world-shattering abilities in her teaser trailer are somehow connected to these new modes. The good news is that we won’t have to wait too long to find out, as all this content goes live on May 28th.
