Consider us intrigued to learn of the existence of this new MMORPG that’s adapted from a 2018 Chinese novel. That novel is Lord of Mysteries, a novel written by Yuan Ye that tells the story of Zhou Mingrui and his apparent conscious movement into the body of Klein Moretti, who lives in an alternate Victorian-era gaslamp world of airships, steam tech, magic, potions, and eldritch threats.
To say that the setting has some deep intrigue is a bit of an understatement, and soon we’ll all be getting to experience this distinct-sounding world in MMORPG form thanks to Chinese developer Spark Nexa. Details on the game are a bit sparse right now, but according to official Twitter posts, players find themselves awakening within the city of Tingen as an empowered Beyonder, chosen to help guard against an otherworldly apocalypse.
As for gameplay, what we have so far is a trailer that offers up a look at some of the open world locales within Tingen and a couple of cutscenes, but there are otherwise no immediately direct details to share just yet.
