The Frostcursed Plate armor in Crimson Desert is a useful armor set that offers good protection and some sturdy ice resistance, along with a handful of additional bonuses. While each piece is hidden in a separate location, they’re all accessible at any point in the game with a few stamina upgrades and one combat skill. And getting to them won’t even put you in harm’s way, unlike some of Crimson Desert‘s other hidden gear.
Below, we explain where to find each part of the Frostcursed Plate armor set in Crimson Desert and what bonuses each piece offers. If you’re having trouble getting around Pywel in the process, keep our Crimson Desert interactive maps handy.
How to get the Frostcursed Plate armor in Crimson Desert
We recommend upgrading your stamina at least four times or more to make traversal easier, as all the Frostcursed armor pieces are located in hilly and mountainous regions. Unlock Force Palm jumping and upgrade Axiom Force in the skill tree to help get around Kliff’s slow climbing times, or consider playing as Damiane instead. She starts with a double jump skill unlocked and climbs faster than Kliff. You also need the Stab skill from the blue section of the skill tree to access a few locations.
You can obtain the Frostcursed armor set at any point in the game, as none of the locations are blocked by story progress. However, only the helm, gloves, and boots can be refined. The cloak and chestplate cannot be, so their stats are locked in.
Frostcursed Plate Helm location in Crimson Desert
The Frostcursed helm is the most conveniently placed, as it’s just a little ways into Demeniss, which is northeast of Hernand. Travel north of Anvil Hill and follow the river, then break off and turn east. Pass the Gate of Truth (go ahead and activate the Abyss Nexus point here to make returning later easier), and aim for the Chattering Stones.
A little ways away from the pond, you’ll see an intact room with a fire glowing inside it. Use Blinding Flash to remove the vines, go inside, and grab the helm from the chest.
The Frostcursed Plate Helm grants immunity to the daze effect, and you restore 0.2 health every second with it equipped.
Frostcursed Plate Cloak location
While you’re in the area, go ahead and climb up to the Sanctum of Expiation, a little to the west of the Chattering Stones. At the top of the steps, turn left to find an entrance with thorns. Use Blinding Flash to set them on fire and remove them, then crouch and walk through the tunnel. Turn right, move forward, and turn right again. Make sure to move fast as the corner is home to a spike trap, and there’s a bug where if you get caught in the spikes, it’s impossible to get out without teleporting to a fast travel point.
At the end of the tunnel is a chest with the Frostcursed Plate Cloak that starts with level 5 ice resistance.
Frostcursed Plate Gloves location
The gloves are behind a waterfall east of the Chattering Stones, in a cave called Lunar Spirit Grotto. You’ll know it’s the right one, as there’s a small stone monument on the riverbank. Stand in front of the water (but don’t touch it, as it’ll cause damage and throw you backward). Charge the Stab skill until your weapon flashes gold, and then release. You’ll make contact with the waterfall and then pierce through it to the other side. At the end of the tunnel is quite a lot of loot, including a refined palmar pill, which revives you with full health. Grab what you want, then open the big chest to get the gloves.
The Frostcursed Plate Gloves have level 1 ice resistance and a damage reduction perk.
Frostcursed Plate Boots location
The boots are behind another waterfall at the Well of Tragedy Grotto. It’s just up the stream from the glove location and across the river, and the same method applies here. You’ll identify the correct waterfall by the monument outside it, then enter the grotto by using Stab on the waterfall. Inside is less treasure than you found in the previous cave, though you can get another refined palmar pill next to the chest with the Frostcursed Plate Boots.
The boots come with a 2% climb speed buff and increase contribution experience by 10%.
Frostcursed Plate Armor location
The chestplate is further north, east of the Spire of Frost, where you can get the Frozen Anguish weapon and north of Deadfire Mountain. You won’t be able to pass through Hexe Sanctuary until you about midway through the main story, so if you haven’t defeated the story-mandatory boss there yet, you’ll have to go around it.
Like the boots and the gloves, the chestplate can be found behind a waterfall, but this one is a bit more annoying as the spot where you can pierce through is much smaller. Stand to the right of the stone monument (not at the base of the waterfall as there’s a chance you’ll get stuck in an endless loop of taking damage and getting shoved underwater), and use Stab to get inside.
Once inside, use Force Palm to break through the gold-encrusted wall. Follow the tunnel to its end, and grab the refined palmar pill and Frostcursed Plate Armor from the chest. You can also mine some gold ore while you’re here.
The armor has level 7 ice resistance.
