If you happen to hold very fond memories of 1998’s isometric MMORPG Lineage and happen to live in South Korea or Taiwan, then you’re in luck because NCsoft has officially released Lineage Classic to fans in those territories as promised.
The game technically was available for free to players for a limited time last week as part of a “pre-open” promotion between February 7th and 10th, but as of today, the game is officially live and subsequently requires a subscription to play; 30 days of access costs around $20, and 90 days of access is $80.
The game’s release is being celebrated with a Lunar New Year event running from now until February 19th that tasks players with defeating evil horses for goodies, as well as a “rare character name time attack” event to earn character nicknames based on the MMO’s four classes by completing certain missions until February 25th.
